Conservation of coastal areas

Our goal is not only to preserve the coast but also to ensure its survival, health, and development for future generations.

Life by the Water’s Edge

Coastal areas—along rivers, ponds, streams, and the sea—represent key ecosystems that are often overlooked but play an essential role in preserving biodiversity and the health of our planet.

Why Are Coastal Areas Vital?

Habitats of Richness

Coastal areas provide homes for thousands of species of plants, animals, and microorganisms. This abundance of species interacts, creating complex webs of interdependence. Coastal areas also serve as natural barriers, filtering pollutants before they reach our waterways, thus helping to preserve water purity and quality.

Erosion Protection

Vegetation in coastal areas stabilizes the soil and reduces erosion, protecting the shores from sudden washouts and preserving the habitats of many species.

Our Approach to Coastal Area Conservation

Cleaning

We organize coastal clean-up efforts to remove waste and invasive species. All other interventions are minimal. Nature is allowed to regenerate and develop on its own.

Raising awareness

We work to increase awareness to reduce human encroachment on nature and the world around us.

Monitoring and Research

We regularly monitor the condition of coastal areas, documenting changes, progress, and potential challenges to ensure their long-term protection and regeneration.

While many focus on the open oceans and vast forests as the main points of ecological interest, we recognize and appreciate the quiet yet vital role that coastal areas play in the ecological balance of our planet.
